**Family Returns to Home After Israeli Air Strike**
A family of four in Tyre, southern Lebanon, returned home on Saturday after a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah was implemented. However, they were met with destruction. The building next to theirs had collapsed, and their own home had been severely damaged.
Mohamad Marouf led his two sons and wife into the destroyed house. “I am so sad,” he said. “It’s a nice, decent house.” The family struggled to comprehend the damage caused by an Israeli air strike. Windows, doors, and furniture were all destroyed.
**Resident’s Home Damaged in Attack**
The destruction was caused by an attack on a nearby residential building. Mr Marouf explained that the force of the attack was so great that even his building was severely damaged. “I don‘t know what to say,” he said.
As residents returned to their badly damaged homes, some people were waving Hezbollah banners. There was sporadic gunfire in the distance. Many supporters claim that the ceasefire is proof of the group’s success.
**Lebanon Ceasefire: A Respite, Not a Solution**
The Lebanon ceasefire is not a solution to the Middle East conflict. It’s a respite. Nearly 4,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured according to the Lebanese health ministry. Israel’s stated aim was to remove Hezbollah from the border.
**Residents Hope for Peace**
A resident of Tyre said, “We are unbeatable.” He stood in the rubble left by an air strike that destroyed a water pumping facility. “All this destruction means nothing if you’re proud and dignified.”
