Georgian President Visits Special Forces
President Salome Zurabishvili visited the special forces stationed at Freedom Square. She met with their commander.
The President talked to the special forces. She reminded them of their duties. “Protect the country,” she said. “Protect its citizens.” She also said it’s not their job to divide people.
The President asked a question: “Do you serve Russia or Georgia?” She wanted to know who they had sworn an oath to.
She also mentioned their families and children. “Don‘t you think about your future?” she asked. The crowd started chanting slogans. They shouted, “Obey the commander-in-chief!” and “Join our side!”
