**Russian Defense Minister Visits North Korea**
The Russian Defense Minister, Andrei Belousov, arrived in Pyongyang on November 29 for an official visit. This comes as Russia and North Korea deepen their military cooperation.
Belousov was greeted by his North Korean counterpart, No Kwang-chol, and members of the North Korean military. He will meet with the country’s military and political leaders during his visit.
**Russian-North Korean Ties Grow Stronger**
This trip follows Russian President Vladimir Putin’s state visit to North Korea in June. During that visit, Russia strengthened its military and economic ties with Pyongyang. North Korea has since sent over 10,000 troops to aid Russia in the war against Ukraine.
North Korea is also providing artillery shells and ballistic missiles to Moscow. In fact, it’s become Russia’s main supplier of these weapons.
**Ukrainian Forces Face New Challenges**
In recent months, Russian forces have been trying to regain lost territory in Kursk Oblast. This region was recently invaded by Ukrainian forces. Ukraine has lost around 40% of the land it gained in August due to Russian counterattacks.
NATO allies believe that President Putin is trying to recapture this territory before a new US president takes office in January.
