**Georgia’s EU Bid Not Stopped, Says Government**
The government of Georgia has denied claims that the country is not moving forward with joining the European Union. A protest was held recently, but it was based on a lie, according to Kakha Kaladze, the general secretary of the “Georgian Dream” party and mayor of the capital.
**Blackmail Claim**
Kaladze accused those behind the protest of trying to blackmail Georgia. He said that no one should be allowed to threaten or intimidate the country into changing its course. The government has been working towards European integration, but it will not do so at the expense of dignity, Kaladze emphasized.
**EU Ambassador’s Statement**
Kaladze pointed out that even the ambassador of the European Union had said before elections that negotiations would not be opened unless a “law on foreign transparency” was passed. This, he claimed, was another example of blackmail.
**Georgia’s Progress**
The government has announced plans to develop Georgia’s economy and improve the quality of life for its citizens. By 2028, Kaladze promised, the country will have achieved significant economic growth and will be ready to join the European Union by 2030.
**Negotiations Should Be Opened**
Kaladze directly addressed those who want to open negotiations: “Open it, we are ready, who is stopping you?!” He emphasized that no one should try to blackmail or threaten Georgia’s people. The country will not be intimidated and will demand respect for its culture, tradition, and past.
