**South Korea Gives Ukraine $100 Million Loan**
Ukraine has received a loan of $100 million from South Korea. This is the first time South Korea has given money to help with Ukraine’s state budget.
The money will be used for social programs in Ukraine. It will also help pay for expenses that the country needs to cover.
In April, Ukraine and South Korea agreed to let Ukraine borrow up to $2.1 billion over several years. This loan can last for 20 years and has a low interest rate of 1%.
Ukraine is facing a budget deficit of $35 billion next year. The country also needs money to keep its economy going during the war with Russia.
**South Korea’s Help**
South Korea has given humanitarian aid to Ukraine since the start of the war. However, it does not provide arms directly because of its laws. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov met with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol recently. This meeting did not change South Korea’s stance on giving arms to Ukraine.
Experts think that South Korea can help Ukraine most by providing ammunition. They have the right type of artillery and many rounds compatible with some of Ukraine’s guns.
A South Korean official said that direct supplies of 155 mm ammunition are not possible at this time.
