Filtration Camp Uncovered in Belarus
Investigations have found a filtration camp set up by Russian forces on the grounds of a Belarusian state enterprise in Naroulia. The camp, which operated from March to May 2022, held Ukrainian civilians and soldiers.
Civilians were taken to the camp after being arrested at Hostomel Airport. They were subjected to torture, harsh interrogations, and beatings. Some were sent to Russian “correctional” colonies.
The existence of the camp was confirmed by satellite imagery and testimonies from former detainees and their relatives. Human rights defenders reported that the camp in Naroulia was one of the most brutal.
Ukrainians who passed through the filtration camp are still missing, with some believed to be held captive in Russia and Belarus.
