Protests on Rustaveli Avenue Continue
For the third day, citizens of Georgia are protesting against the government’s decision to delay EU accession talks until 2028. This decision was made recently and has sparked strong reactions among the population.
The police have been heavily involved in trying to keep the protests under control. Many police officers, including those from a special forces unit, have been deployed around the parliament building. Some units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are also on site.
To help manage the situation, water cannons and other specialized equipment have been placed along Rustaveli Avenue. This suggests that authorities are preparing for a possible confrontation with protesters.
