Georgia’s ambassador to the US, Davit Zalkaliani, has quit his job.
According to reports from Radio Liberty and Formula TV station, Zalkaliani resigned as ambassador. Sources close to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Georgian Embassy in the US confirmed this information.
Zalkaliani had been Georgia‘s ambassador to the US since 2022. Before that, he was the minister of foreign affairs and head of the diplomatic agency.
His resignation might be linked to ongoing protests in Georgia and other diplomats quitting their jobs.
