EU Leaders Visit Ukraine

Top Union visited Kyiv on December 1. They met with Ukrainian leaders show their support for the country’ fight against .

The visit was by António Costa, new of the EU Council, Kaja Kallas, High Representative for EU and Security Policy, and Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement.

Their trip was a surprise, with no advance warning. It happened on the first day of their new jobs. They wanted to show that the EU still supports Ukraine.

António Costa said a message: “We have been supporting Ukraine since the start of the war. We will keep doing so.” He referred to the EU’s commitment to Ukraine, which began when the conflict with Russia started.

This visit took place as the new , led by Ursula von der Leyen, started its term.
