**Protest Crackdown in Georgia**
The Georgian police have arrested 224 people who took part in protests in recent days. The arrests were made on charges of small acts of disorder and disobeying police orders.
21 police officers were hurt during the protests on December 1-2, and a total of 113 since November 28.
Two young men, aged 17 and 21, have been arrested on serious charges. They are accused of attacking a police officer and setting fire to property. If convicted, they could face up to 7 years in prison.
**More Arrests**
Zurab Japaridze, a leader of the Coalition for Change, was also arrested on December 2. The charges against him have not been made public yet.
The police say that protesters had damaged infrastructure and set up barricades during their rallies.
**Court Cases**
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), many people who were arrested have faced administrative charges. So far, 98 cases have been sent to court, with 74 already completed. Of those, 36 people were fined, while 34 others received administrative detention. Some also received warnings.
**Concerns**
Human rights groups are concerned about the treatment of protesters. They say that police have used violence and confiscated personal items like phones from detainees. The courts are accused of ignoring complaints made by protesters.
**More Protests Ahead?**
Protests in Georgia continue, with people taking to the streets in Tbilisi and other cities. The MIA has promised to keep a close eye on the situation to ensure public safety and uphold the law.
