EU Should Take Action on Georgia Uprising, Says Belgian MEP.

Belgium’s former Prime and a Member of the European Parliament (MEP), , has spoken out about the situation Georgia. He thinks that the should take immediate action against those responsible during the recent uprising.

Verhofstadt said that instead of just talking, needs act now. He suggested that sanctions be put on people involved in the ministry of interior and police who were responsible for the violence.

The countries have already taken similar action, he noted. The EU should follow their lead, Verhofstadt argued. It’s time for Europe to take action instead of just talking about it, he said.
