**Ukraine’s Security Service Arrests Suspected Russian Spies and Foils Sabotage Plots**
The Ukrainian security service, SBU, has arrested several people suspected of working for Russia. The arrests were made in different parts of the country.
**Spies Caught in Lyman and Chernihiv**
In the city of Lyman, a 67-year-old woman was caught gathering information about Ukraine’s military positions. She was accused of sending this information to Russian handlers to help them plan attacks. In Chernihiv, another person suspected of working for Russia was caught trying to coordinate airstrikes against the city.
**Saboteurs Foiled in Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia**
In Kirovohrad Oblast, two people were arrested for planning to set fire to a train and attack a postal facility. They had also planned to destroy power substations and relay cabinets. In Vinnytsia Oblast, three college students were caught setting fire to buildings, including a post office. Investigators believe they were being recruited by Russian intelligence to carry out more sabotage.
**Charges and Penalties**
The people arrested in these cases face serious charges. Those accused of spying in Lyman and Chernihiv could be sentenced to life imprisonment if convicted. The saboteurs in Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia also face life imprisonment, as well as other penalties under Ukraine’s criminal code.
