Protest by Students and Teachers in Georgia
Students and teachers at several schools in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia, have stopped attending classes as a form of protest. This decision is in response to the government‘s announcement that it will not negotiate with the European Union until 2028.
Several schools have joined the protest, including the Komarov School and the St. Ilia the Right School. At these schools, students and teachers are holding protests against the government’s decision.
The Green School has also suspended its educational process, citing the need to protect freedom of expression. The American school named after Givi Zaldastanishvili will not hold classes on December 2 either.
Schools in other cities have joined the protest as well. In Zugdidi, students from a public school and a Georgian-French school are on strike. Similar actions are taking place in Kutaisi and Poti.
The University of Georgia has also suspended its educational process due to teacher protests.
