**Detainees Moved to Temporary Detention Center**
On December 2, people arrested during a protest on Rustaveli Avenue were moved to the Zahehi temporary detention center. Some of them have already been visited by their lawyers.
Human rights defender Lasha Tkesheladze has spoken out about the treatment of detainees. He visited three of them and says that two claim they were physically abused by special forces. They told him that police beat them when they arrested them, both in a cordon and while in a car.
Tkesheladze describes this behavior as “inhuman, unmanly, and un-Georgian”. He adds that the detainees have physical injuries from being beaten. Two out of three of those he visited have visible injuries.
**Protest and Arrests**
On December 2, law enforcement officers arrested 34 people for taking part in a protest on Rustaveli Avenue under the Code of Administrative Offenses. In addition, 12 police officers were injured during the same protest.
