Civil Activist Not Detained, Says Ministry
The Ministry of Internal Affairs says civil activist Dodi Kharkhel is not being held by police. Instead, she is being questioned as part of an ongoing investigation into a crime.
This was told to news agency InterpressNews by the ministry itself. They said that “investigative actions are underway in one of the criminal cases” and that Kharkhel will be questioned about it.
The ministry did not say which case they were investigating. However, some information suggests it might be related to her ex-husband, Ucha Abashidze.
Recently, police took Kharkhel away from her apartment after stopping her on the street. Video of this was shared online. Her relatives said that police are searching her home but have not been allowed inside their building.
