Russian Oligarch Predicts Putin Will Reject Peace Plan
Konstantin Malofeyev, a wealthy Russian businessman, spoke out against potential peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. He said that President Vladimir Putin would reject any plan proposed by the US.
Malofeyev was speaking to the Financial Times. According to him, the US is planning to use military aid to Ukraine as a bargaining chip. This could lead to a freeze in the conflict and delay Ukraine’s entry into NATO.
Putin’s Advisor Makes Demands
Instead of negotiating, Malofeyev suggested that Putin should make demands on the US. These include cancelling permission for Ukraine to use American-made long-range weapons and removing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy from power. He also claimed that Putin wants a meeting with Trump at the highest level to discuss global issues.
Malofeyev made a warning about Russia’s military capabilities, saying that they are willing to use a tactical nuclear weapon if the US continues to support Ukraine. This could have severe consequences for civilians and would likely end the conflict.
War Continues
Despite Malofeyev’s comments, the war in Ukraine shows no signs of slowing down. The UN has reported a 20% increase in civilian casualties in March from February, with 604 people affected by Russian missile strikes. Ukrainian port facilities have also been compromised, affecting global food security.
