**OSCE Concerned Over Clashes in Georgia**
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Special Representative on the South Caucasus, Luis Graça, has expressed concern over recent protests and clashes in Georgia. This follows the country’s parliamentary elections in October.
Graça is worried about reports of violence during demonstrations. He urges protesters to exercise their rights peacefully and for authorities to show restraint while protecting freedoms of assembly and expression.
Georgia’s election was very divisive. Graça wants all sides to have a constructive dialogue to rebuild trust and strengthen democratic institutions. The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly is ready to support democratic solutions in Georgia.
Graça also mentioned the OSCE PA’s Bucharest Declaration from July, which talked about helping “grey zone” countries like Georgia and Armenia. These countries need more security guarantees to feel safe.
The OSCE PA is committed to fostering dialogue and rebuilding trust in Georgia’s democracy.
