Russian Forces Intensify Attacks on Ukraine’s Border Regions.
Russia is launching up to 25 attacks per day along the border between Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts. The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Russian forces have made significant advances near Velyka Novosilka, a key location in the conflict zone.
Footage shows Russian troops pushing north of Novyi Komar, which could give them access to strategic roads and highways. This includes the T0518 highway, a critical route for supply and troop movements.
Ukrainian forces are countering these advances with their own attacks, according to Colonel Vladyslav Voloshyn of the Tavriisk Group of Forces. Russian forces are making slow but steady gains near Velyka Novosilka.
There have been reports of Russian forces claiming to have taken control of Novodarivka, southwest of Velyka Novosilka. However, these claims have not been confirmed by ISW.
The conflict has been intense in the region, with Russian forces making advances from multiple directions near Velyka Novosilka and other surrounding areas.
Ukrainian forces have also repelled a Russian attempt to establish a foothold on the western bank of the Oskil River north of Kupiansk. The Ukrainian General Staff reported that Russian troops were driven back by artillery and drone strikes.
Unfortunately, the ongoing conflict has caused significant damage to Ukraine’s natural areas. About 80% of the Svyati Hory National Nature Park in Donetsk Oblast has been devastated due to intense combat.
