New Mental Health Centers Open in Ukraine
The Ukrainian government wants to create a network of mental health centers. These centers will help people who need special care for their mental health.
So far, 23 new centers have been opened in eight regions. There are now teams made up of experts from different fields working at these centers. The goal is to provide support and treatment for people who are vulnerable, such as children, veterans, and those who have had to leave their homes.
These new centers will focus on helping people with problems like depression, anxiety, and stress caused by war or other conflicts. They will also offer services that are easily available to everyone in the community.
The Health Minister said that these centers are not just about treating people, but also about making sure that they feel safe and comfortable when seeking help.
Many people in Ukraine may need psychological support. The government estimates that 1.8 million people who have served in the military or are veterans might benefit from this kind of care.
The World Health Organization says that many people experience mental health problems after a war. This is because of things like not having a steady home, not being able to sleep well, and being afraid all the time.
