**Lithuanian Foreign Minister Speaks Out Against Georgian Government**
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister, Gabrielius Landsbergis, has spoken out against the Georgian government’s decision to suspend negotiations with the European Union until 2028. He made his comments in Brussels.
According to Landsbergis, this move by the Georgian government is not a surprise. “They have taken many steps to tell Europe that they no longer want to be part of it,” he said. These steps include actions that divert Georgia from its path towards European integration.
**Sanctions Imposed on Georgian Officials**
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister also spoke about sanctions imposed by the Baltic States on Bidzina Ivanishvili, Vakhtang Gomelauri, and other persons. These individuals have been banned from entering the Baltic States due to their role in using violence against demonstrators.
Landsbergis believes that these actions are unacceptable and hopes that they will send a message to others. “It’s symbolic, but I hope it will be an impetus for other EU allies to do the same,” he said.
**Additional Measures Considered**
The Lithuanian Foreign Minister was also asked about additional measures that may be taken against Georgia. He stated that similar decisions are being made at the European level and that the issue of Georgia will be fully discussed at the next meeting of the Foreign Affairs Council.
Landsbergis expressed support for further measures, including possible suspension of visa liberalization. He believes that these actions can help to send a clear message to the Georgian government.
