**Ukraine to Receive $50 Billion in Frozen Russian Assets**
The United States and the European Union are set to transfer $50 billion in frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on December 4. The funds will be used to support Ukraine’s economy and defense.

**Ukraine Receives Major Weapons Package**
The US has also delivered a $725 million weapons package to Ukraine, including Stinger missiles, ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), and other equipment. This is part of the Biden administration’s efforts to strengthen Kyiv’s defenses before the January transition of power.
**Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine**
Since February 2022, at least 20,000 Ukrainian children have been abducted from Russian-occupied territories and sent to Russia or other parts of Ukraine. The situation has worsened as winter sets in, with businesses struggling to stay operational during rolling blackouts and freezing temperatures.
**NATO Support for Ukraine**
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that the alliance will do its best to provide Ukraine with air defenses necessary to protect its infrastructure. However, there is a shortage of such systems available.
