**Ukraine Replaces Imported Drones with Domestic Ones**
The Ukrainian military is now using newly developed drones instead of importing them from China. The decision was made to reduce costs and increase efficiency on the battlefield.
**Three Domestically Made Drones Already in Use**
Three domestic drones, called Lens, Zoom, and Shmavik, have been deployed on the frontlines since June 2024. According to Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, these drones are resistant to enemy electronic warfare and meet NATO standards.
**Benefits of Domestic Drones**
The newly developed drones have several advantages over imported ones. They feature integrated communication systems that can resist enemy electronic warfare, automatic landing capabilities, and a “return home” mode in case of emergencies. Ukrainian producers also make many of the components themselves, which reduces reliance on foreign imports.
**High Demand for Drones**
The use of drones has become a crucial part of modern warfare in Ukraine. The military is using them for surveillance, fire direction, and attacking enemy infantry and equipment. According to Fedorov, a single military unit can use up to five drones in one day, which highlights their efficiency and affordability.
