Georgian Prime Minister Says “Maidan” Idea Has Failed
The idea of a Georgian “Maidan” has not worked, according to the country’s Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze. He made this statement in an interview with a Hungarian YouTube channel.
Kobakhidze said that people who wanted to organize a “Maidan” in Georgia had already tried four times. Some European politicians and officials even threatened Georgia with a “Maidan”, but it did not happen. The Prime Minister believes there is no significant risk for his country because the protests are getting smaller.
He said that five or six days ago, many people were protesting in the streets. Now, only a quarter of those numbers are left. Kobakhidze thinks the government can handle the situation effectively. He mentioned that Georgia has strong law enforcement agencies and a strong state.
