Nika Gvaramia, a leader of the “Coalition for Change“, is safe. He was arrested yesterday and his lawyer visited him in a detention center.
According to Nika‘s lawyer, Keti Chomakashvili, there was no physical violence against him during the arrest. However, they still don’t know which article he was arrested under. The police told him it was an administrative detention, but this hasn’t been confirmed officially.
Keti Chomakashvili said that Nika has not received any official information about the charges against him. He’s only heard rumors and speculations that he’s being accused of resisting the police and petty hooliganism.
Nika is currently in a temporary detention facility. According to the rules, 48 hours have passed since his administrative detention began. This means he should either be released or taken to court for further decision-making.
