**Ukraine Sees No Signs of Russia’s Willingness to Negotiate**
The Ukrainian government does not believe that Russia is ready for meaningful peace talks. Andriy Yermak, the head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, made this clear in an interview with The Telegraph on December 4.
Yermak said that Russia only wants to dictate terms and issue ultimatums. He emphasized that no leader of the democratic world would allow such demands. This includes US President-elect Donald Trump, who has promised to bring a swift end to the conflict.
**Ukraine’s Need for Support Remains Urgent**
Yermak also stressed that the war in Ukraine is ongoing every minute. The Ukrainian government needs additional weapons and equipment to fight against Russia. Yermak said that their partners are aware of this need and that communication between them is good.
However, each day of fighting results in losses of Ukrainian people. Yermak called for continued support from the international community to help bring an end to the conflict.
**Ukraine Meets with US Aides**
On the same day as Yermak’s interview, a Ukrainian delegation led by Yermak met with Trump’s top aides in Washington. The meeting included Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
They met with incoming US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Ukraine peace envoy Keith Kellogg. This meeting shows that Ukraine continues to work with the international community to find a solution to the conflict.
**NATO Membership Crucial**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with Sky News that NATO membership for territories under Ukrainian government control is essential to ending the “hot phase of the war.” He emphasized that any invitation to join NATO should acknowledge Ukraine’s internationally recognized borders.
