Prosecutor’s Office Charges 9 People Over Rally Violence
The prosecutor’s office in Georgia has charged 9 people with organizing group violence and preparing an explosion.
According to the prosecutor’s office, these events took place during a rally on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi. The defendants allegedly organized and participated in the group violence. Many people were hurt and property was damaged.
The prosecutor’s office is asking a court to take a preventive measure against the defendants. They are being charged under two articles of the Criminal Code, which could result in up to 9 years in prison if they are found guilty.
An investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
