**Ukraine’s Maritime Corridor Helps Export Cargo**
The Ukrainian government has set up a special maritime corridor to help ships move goods in and out of the country. This was done after Russia’s naval fleet had been pushed back from Ukraine’s coasts.
Since August 2023, over 3,000 vessels have used this corridor to transport more than 85 million tons of cargo. The majority of this cargo is agricultural products, which are being exported to almost 50 countries around the world. These exports have provided food for over 400 million people.
The corridor has been especially important because it allows Ukraine to export its grain and other crops to countries that need them. In November alone, Ukrainian ports processed more than 7.5 million tons of cargo – a 41% increase from the same time last year.
Despite the challenges, Ukraine’s maritime corridor continues to operate and help the country’s economy recover. However, it has faced many attacks in recent months. Over 300 port facilities have been damaged or destroyed, and there have been casualties among workers and sailors.
