**Mikheil Saakashvili Speaks Out Against Arrests**
Former President Mikheil Saakashvili has spoken out against the arrests of his party members. Aleko Elisashvili, a leader of “Strong Georgia”, was arrested and brought to prison.
Saakashvili said that he is proud of his party, “National Movement”, which has five young representatives who were also arrested. He compared their situation to his own, saying that he was once imprisoned after finishing his term as president.
**Support for Aleko**
Saakashvili expressed support for Aleko Elisashvili, saying that he is a victim of political provocation. He warned that anyone who does not show solidarity with Aleko will become a target themselves.
The former president accused the authorities of staging propaganda tricks to distract from their main goal: stopping Saakashvili and his party members. He praised the young people at the rally for their English language skills, but warned them not to believe what others say about him.
**Saakashvili’s Response**
Saakashvili responded to criticism that he was an authoritarian leader by pointing out that he resigned from the presidency and shortened his term in office. He argued that he did not like the influence of Russia on Georgian politics and took action against it.
The trial of Nika Gvaramia, the leader of “Coalition for Change”, is also ongoing. Saakashvili’s party members are facing charges and arrests, but the former president remains defiant and determined to fight back against what he sees as a politically motivated attack on him and his allies.
