Charges Filed Against 6 People for Group Violence
The Prosecutor‘s Office of Georgia has charged six people with participating in group violence. The incident took place during a rally on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi.
According to the investigation, the defendants actively took part in the violent acts, which resulted in many people getting injured. The properties of both individuals and businesses were damaged or destroyed, including infrastructure owned by Tbilisi City Hall.
The accused are facing charges under Article 225 of Georgia’s Criminal Code. If convicted, they could get prison sentences ranging from 4 to 6 years.
The Prosecutor’s Office has asked the court to take preventive measures against the defendants within the time limit set by law. The investigation is still ongoing and being conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
