**Opposition Leader Threatens Regime Over Violence**
Georgian opposition leader Giorgi Vashadze has vowed to hold accountable those responsible for the violent crackdown on peaceful protesters. He made his statement at a joint briefing of opposition parties.
Vashadze targeted the police and special forces who were involved in the violence. “Do you think that mask will protect you?” he asked. “Do you think any of those policemen will protect you? All of you will be held accountable, not only the leaders of the regime, but those who hide behind the masks.”
The opposition leader also appealed to the international community to take specific actions against the Georgian Dream regime. He believes that President Salome Zurabishvili‘s visit to France will speed up the sanctions process.
**Violence Against Protesters**
Vashadze described the night of terror as unprecedented. “Peaceful protesters were confronted with force,” he said. “Young people were surrounded, arrested, and beaten. Some had their children taken away from them.”
He cited a post on social media that read: “They threw him down and beat him, took him to the beating corridor, kept him away and spat in his mouth one by one.” Vashadze wants those responsible for such brutality to be held accountable.
**Call to Action**
Vashadze urged people to stand together against the regime. “We will definitely reveal all the domestic and international mechanisms,” he said. He called on parents, spouses, and children of special forces personnel to wake them up and ask them to stop obeying instructions without a word.
He also appealed to high-ranking officials in the Ministry of Internal Affairs to separate themselves from the violence. Vashadze wants people to gather at TSU today at 5 o’clock and march to Rustaveli to show support for the generation of dignity.
**International Community**
Vashadze called on the international community to take concrete actions against the Georgian Dream regime. He welcomed President Zurabishvili‘s visit to France and believed that it would accelerate the sanctions process.
