**Police Crack Down on Peaceful Protest in Georgia**
The police in Georgia have increased their violence against protesters. On the 9th night of a legitimate protest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs used violent methods to crack down on the demonstration.
According to the Georgian Young Lawyers Association, peaceful protesters were physically assaulted and threatened by police officers. They also interfered with journalists doing their work. Some people were violently detained without any reason. The association monitors human rights violations and believes that the systematic violence against civilians should be considered crimes against humanity.
**Police Use Excessive Force**
On December 6-7, a peaceful demonstration was held in Freedom Square. However, the police began to crack down on it without any reason at midnight. Special forces occupied the area in front of the Parliament, and people were violently detained. The police also searched people exiting the metro station, which is not allowed by law.
**51 People Detained**
The hotline of civil society organizations received information about 51 detainees throughout the night. The methods used by the police were aimed at intimidating citizens and creating obstacles for them to reach the place of peaceful assembly.
**Unknown Individuals Attack Protesters**
After the protesters moved from one location to another, they were confronted by unknown individuals armed with firearms. Their faces are clearly visible in footage, but it is not clear who they are or what group they belong to.
