**Police and Protesters Face Off in Tbilisi**
Water jet machines and special equipment have been brought to the area around “Freedom Square”. Police officers are also present.
At the same time, people have gathered on Rustaveli Avenue, where a protest has been going on for 11 days. This protest is a response to a decision made by the government‘s party “Georgian Dream” on November 28.
The protesters are upset that Georgia will not consider opening talks with the European Union until the end of 2028. They want new elections and the release of people arrested during the protests.
It’s worth noting that the streets of Chichinadze and Chitadze are free of police presence. This area has no police cordon.
