US President-elect Donald Trump says Russian President Vladimir Putin should end the war in Ukraine. This is because Russia has lost 700,000 people to hostilities.
In an interview with the New York Post, Trump said that when you lose 700,000 people, it’s time to make peace. He also said that he wants to freeze the war along current front lines and postpone Ukraine’s NATO aspirations.
**Ukraine Wants Peace**
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Trump in Paris and said that Ukrainians want peace more than anyone else. However, Russia brought war to their land, and it is up to Russia to make peace possible.
**More US Aid for Ukraine**
The outgoing Biden administration is trying to ship as much aid to Ukraine as possible. They announced a military aid package worth almost $1 billion on December 7.
**Russia Loses More Troops**
Russian forces have suffered 1,220 casualties over the past day alone. Russia has spent at least $200 billion on its war with Ukraine since 2022.
**Estonia’s PM Visits Kyiv**
Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal arrived in Kyiv to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on December 9.
**Russia Attacks Ukraine**
The Russian military attacked Ukraine with cruise missiles and drones overnight on December 9. This was met with a response from Ukraine’s Air Force.
