EU Concerned Over Georgia‘s Democratic Decline
The European Union has expressed concern over the situation in Georgia. The country‘s government, “Georgian Dream“, has taken actions that have led to a de facto suspension of the process to join the EU.
This is according to Anitta Hipper, press-speaker for the European Union. She said that the EU will discuss further measures on December 16.
The EU is worried about the decline in democracy and the use of repressive measures by Georgian authorities. They are calling on “Georgian Dream” to stop escalating the situation.
The EU wants “Georgian Dream” to find a peaceful solution to end the current unrest. The government’s actions are causing harm to the people of Georgia, the EU says.
