Ukraine’s Elite Drone Unit Gets Big Upgrade
The Ukrainian military is making a major change to its drone unit. The “Madyar’s Birds” Regiment, known for its successful attacks on Russian forces, will become a full-fledged brigade. This upgrade was announced by the regiment’s commander, Robert Brovdi.
The Madyar’s Birds Regiment has been using drones for many things, like strikes against enemy positions and gathering information about the enemy’s electronic systems. They have also used drones to lay mines remotely and conduct patrol missions. In addition, they produce their own drone munitions in large numbers.
This upgrade is a big deal because it will triple the number of soldiers in the unit and add more detachments. This means the unit will be able to do even more on the battlefield. The regiment currently works with the Ukrainian Army’s Marine Corps.
The Madyar’s Birds Regiment was also part of the creation of Ukraine‘s new Unmanned Systems Forces, which brings together all sorts of unmanned systems from different areas to work together.
