**Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Talks European Integration**
The government of Georgia says that joining the European Union is very important. This was said by Maka Bochorishvili, the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Maka Bochorishvili spoke about this at a press conference with Hungary‘s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Péter Szijjártó. According to her, Georgia’s main goals for foreign relations are European integration and working closely with other countries.
The minister said that Georgians have always wanted to be part of Europe. She mentioned the parliamentary elections in which over 2 million people voted. This shows that most Georgians want their country to become more involved with Europe.
Maka Bochorishvili also talked about how some groups are trying to use European integration for political gain. She said this can create problems for Georgia‘s stability and security.
Georgia values its partnership with the EU, but not all countries work well together. Maka Bochorishvili thanked Hungary for respecting Georgia’s independence and democracy.
The minister ended by saying that it is concerning to see people trying to undermine Georgia’s democratic choice.
