Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze Speaks Out on City Hall Reorganization
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has spoken out about the reorganization of Tbilisi City Hall. He said that the process began before recent political events and will bring “many big changes” to the city hall.
Kaladze made his comments at a meeting of the capital city government today. He addressed rumors that the reorganization was connected to current political processes, saying this is not true. The mayor stated that the reorganization was announced in 2017 and has been ongoing since then.
He emphasized that the process is aimed at making the city hall work more efficiently and improving services for citizens. Kaladze said that some people have made false evaluations about the reorganization, but he wants to clarify that it is not connected to current political events.
Kaladze also addressed rumors about bonuses for employees. He stated that bonuses are given based on an employee’s performance, as determined by legislation. The mayor said there has never been a case where someone was punished or treated unfairly because of their views.
A petition signed by over 200 employees was circulated recently, claiming that some employees were being blackmailed and bullied into signing or not signing something. Kaladze condemned this behavior and said the city hall will act according to the law regarding bonuses.
