**Judges Accused of Helping Repress Tortured People**
A civil platform in Georgia has accused some judges of helping to carry out repressions against people who were tortured. The platform, called the “European Orbit of Georgia”, says that more than 460 people had their rights violated after November 28.
The founder of the platform, Nino Lomjaria, said that judges were not interested in where and how people were being tortured. When victims tried to tell their stories in court, the judges silenced them and said it was not relevant to the case.
**Judges Fined People Without Reason**
Lomjaria said that judges fined people between 2,000 and 3,000 GEL (Georgian Lari) without any explanation. They also kept some people in custody for up to 12 days without any reason.
The platform says that lawyers from 11 non-governmental organizations helped detainees and observed court proceedings. According to their data, more than 460 arrests were made after November 28, with 430 of those being administrative detentions and 36 under criminal law.
**Judges Failed to Follow Fair Trial Principles**
Lomjaria said that judges failed to follow the principles of a fair trial. They did not consider motions for postponement of the process and only gave a short break to the parties to gather evidence. The platform also accused judges of ignoring physical injuries suffered by detainees.
The founder of the “European Orbit of Georgia” platform thinks that these judges were carrying out a political order, aimed at punishing and repressing protesters.
**List of Accused Judges**
Lomjaria mentioned five specific judges who she believes were involved in this repression: Lela Mildenberg, Zviad Tsekvava, Lela Tsagareishvili, Koba Chagunava, Nino Enukidze, and Manuchar Tsatsua.
