Ukraine’s President Speaks Out Against Hungary’s PM
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has spoken out against Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orban. Zelenskyy was responding to a phone call between Orban and Russia‘s Vladimir Putin.
Zelenskyy expressed hope that Orban would not talk to another leader, Bashar Assad, about the Ukraine war. He made his comments on X (formerly Twitter).
Zelenskyy said true peace and security can only be achieved if the US, Europe, and other countries work together to follow UN principles. He also emphasized that Ukraine should be part of all talks about its future.
The Ukrainian President thanked leaders like former US President Trump for working with him to find solutions to the war. He noted that Orban has close ties with Moscow but has failed to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Orban has allowed Russian and Belarusian citizens to live in Hungary without proper checks, giving them a path to permanent residency after three years.
