**Longest-Ever Demonstrations in Georgia**
Badri Japaridze, a leader of the “Strong Georgia” coalition, says he’s never seen anything like it. For 35 years, he’s been involved in demonstrations, but this time is different.
“People are out on the streets because they’re afraid their families and country will lose its European future,” Japaridze said. He was speaking on a TV show called “Tavisupali Studio” for PalitraNews.
**What’s Behind the Protests**
Japaridze thinks the protests have already made a big impact. They’ve shown the world that Georgians won’t accept autocracy and will fight to keep their European future. He believes these self-organized demonstrations are crucial for the country’s freedom.
“I’ve never seen such continuous, self-organized demonstrations in my 35 years of activism,” Japaridze said. “People who had never participated before are now out on the streets because they see a direct threat to their families and country.”
**Support from Public Servants**
Japaridze also spoke about public servants joining the protests. He believes these people are patriots who care more about the country’s future than any punishment they might face.
“Our public sector is full of qualified, patriotic people,” Japaridze said. “They’re not afraid to lose their jobs for standing up against violence and the loss of our European future.”
**The Only Way Out**
Japaridze thinks the only way to resolve this crisis is through new elections. He believes that as long as punitive measures are used, protests will continue.
“The more repressive “Georgian Dream” becomes, the more people will protest,” Japaridze said. “The future of our country is worth more than any job or punishment.”
