**Ukraine Shoots Down Majority of Russian Missiles and Drones in Large-Scale Attack**
On December 13, Ukraine’s Air Force reported that it had shot down 81 out of 94 missiles and 80 out of 193 drones launched by Russia. This was one of the largest aerial strikes against Ukraine.
Russia deployed a wide range of missiles and drones, including four Kinzhal air-launched missiles, two Iskander-M ballistic missiles, and 55 Kh-101 and Kh-55SM cruise missiles launched from Tu-95MS bomber planes. The country also sent seven Iskander-K cruise missiles and one Kh-59/69 missile.
**Critical Infrastructure Hit**
The attack targeted energy facilities across multiple regions, with Ukraine’s F-16 fighter jets involved in intercepting Russian projectiles. Eleven missiles were reportedly downed by the Ukrainian Air Force.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast suffered the most damage during the attack, with cruise missiles and drones striking critical infrastructure facilities. However, no casualties have been reported so far.
**Poland Scrambles Fighter Jets**
As Russian missiles and drones entered western Ukraine, the Polish Air Force scrambled fighter jets as a precautionary measure, following its standard protocol during Russian mass strikes near the border.

The attack underscores the ongoing threat to Ukraine’s critical infrastructure as winter intensifies. The Defense Forces are maintaining robust air defenses against escalating aerial assaults.
**Moscow Calls for Urgent Measures**
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for urgent measures to support the country’s coal companies, which face multibillion-dollar losses and risk mass bankruptcies.
