**Russia May Launch Another Ballistic Missile**
The US Department of Defense (DoD) has warned that Russia may launch another experimental intermediate-range ballistic missile at Ukraine. This warning came on December 11.
**Russian Withdrawal from Syria**
At the same time, the DoD confirmed that Russia’s military is withdrawing from its base in Tartus, Syria. This move follows the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
**Escalating Violence in Ukraine**
Earlier, Russia used a nuclear-capable ballistic missile on Dnipro in Ukraine on November 21. This marked the first time such a missile was used in combat and carried conventional warheads. The use of this type of missile is considered a significant escalation by Russia in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine.
