**Trump‘s Ukraine Peace Envoy Says Resolution to War May Be Imminent**
The Trump administration’s new Ukraine peace envoy, Keith Kellogg, said in a recent interview that the Russia-Ukraine war may be resolved soon. He stated on Fox News that a resolution to the conflict could happen within the next few months.
Kellogg, who was nominated to the post in November, believes that President Donald Trump is the only person who can bring peace to Ukraine. He said that both sides are “tired of killing each other” and that it’s time for a solution.
**Proposal for Peace**
As part of his proposal, Kellogg suggests freezing the front line, taking NATO’s accession off the table, and partially lifting sanctions on Russia. The US would continue sending military aid to Ukraine and provide security guarantees to prevent further Russian aggression.
However, Ukrainian officials have urged President-elect Trump to maintain support and adopt a “peace through strength” approach in dealings with Russia. President Volodymyr Zelensky has also called for peace negotiations with Russia.
**Trump’s Plans**
President-elect Trump has repeatedly promised to end the war within 24 hours but has not provided details about his plan. He wants European troops to monitor a potential ceasefire in Ukraine, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Zelensky reportedly told Trump that “peace needs guarantees because a ceasefire alone isn’t enough.” Members of Trump’s incoming administration have held discussions with White House officials as part of their effort to establish a ceasefire once Trump is inaugurated in January.
**Other Developments**
The Supreme Court of the Netherlands has rejected Russia’s appeal, upholding a decision requiring Russia to pay $5 billion in compensation to Ukraine for misappropriated assets in occupied Crimea.
