**Russia Attacks Ukraine’s Power Plants**
On December 13, Russia launched a massive aerial attack on Ukraine. The attack targeted energy facilities in several regions. DTEK, a company that operates thermal power plants, said their equipment was seriously damaged.
No one was hurt in the attacks. Energy workers are working to repair the damage. However, the company did not reveal more information about the targeted plants or the extent of the damage due to security reasons.
**Wide-Spread Damage**
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast suffered its worst attack since the war started. Cruise missiles and drones hit critical infrastructure facilities in the region. No one was injured, but the area’s energy facilities are operating normally for now.
Energy facilities were also targeted in Lviv Oblast. Ternopil Oblast was impacted as well. The regional military administration said there were no casualties, but some residents lost power due to emergency shutdowns.
**Repeated Attacks**
This is the 12th mass attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this year. DTEK’s facilities have been targeted nine times already. Russia launched a similar strike on November 28. There was a prolonged bombing campaign over the summer and spring as well.
