Georgia Parliament Protests
Deputies are entering the Georgian Parliament. They are coming in through April 9 Street, where police have blocked the access road.
Protesters gathered outside the parliament since morning. They are moving towards April 9 Street. People are shouting “Slaves”, “Russians”, and “Diploma to Kavelashvili“.
The protesters are upset about a proposed election for President Mikheil Kavelashvili. They believe it’s an insult that someone without education or a diploma could become president.
Police have mobilized in several areas, including Chichinadze Street, the perimeter of the parliament, and Freedom Square. Water jet vehicles are also on site.
