**New Underground School Opens in Zaporizhzhia**
A new underground school has opened in Zaporizhzhia, giving 500 students a safe place to learn. The school is just 30 kilometers from the front line.
The school was built quickly, using a standard design provided by UNICEF. It took only six months to build and cost around $3 million. The school will have classes for students in grades one through nine.
**A Safe Place to Learn**
This underground school was made because of the war with Russia. Many schools are not safe from Russian missile strikes. This new school is designed to be strong and can withstand most types of Russian attacks.
The school’s director, Liudmyla Zlatova, said that they have 654 children in the school already. Most of them have visited the school and are getting used to it. The school will start regular classes from January 1st next year.
**Strong and Safe**
The school was built with extra strength so it can protect students in case of a Russian attack. It’s designed to withstand up to 90% of known Russian weaponry.
The government paid for most of the school, with some money coming from local budgets. The city plans to build more underground schools like this one.
