Protests Continue in Tbilisi
Citizens are gathering on Rustaveli Avenue for the 18th day of protests. A group of marchers, including people from the arts sector and IT professionals, walked towards the Parliament area.
The protesters already on Rustaveli Avenue welcomed the new arrivals with cheers and applause. The march started near Marjanishvili Square and joined up with more people from the left bank of the river. They also protested outside the Ministry of Culture.
As they marched, people from nearby buildings showed their support by waving and honking horns. The protesters eventually reached the Orbeliani Palace, where President Salome Zurabishvili expressed her support for them.
Several different groups are protesting in Tbilisi today. These include displaced persons and election observers. All of these groups will eventually meet up on Rustaveli Avenue.
