Russian Politician Comments on Georgian President‘s Actions
Grigory Karasin, the head of Russia’s Committee on International Affairs, has spoken out about Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili‘s decision not to step down from her position.
Karasin says that Zurabishvili is trying to create an image as a strong and uncompromising leader. He claims she wants to be seen as someone who will stop at nothing to promote Western values.
According to Karasin, Zurabishvili has been able to stir up emotions in Georgia for a while. However, he believes that this won’t last forever. “The clock is counting the minutes of her power and popularity,” Karasin said.
Karasin’s comments suggest that he doesn’t think Zurabishvili will be able to maintain her position indefinitely. He seems to be implying that she will eventually have to step down due to declining support.
