Four world leaders have congratulated Mikheil Kavelashvili on being elected as President of Georgia by the electoral college.
Belarus’ leader, Alexander Lukashenko, sent a message to congratulate Mikheil Kavelashvili. He said he is confident that strengthening relations between their countries will help them work together better in the future. Lukashenko wished Kavelashvili good health and success in his new role.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also congratulated Kavelashvili. He said the two leaders will work together to strengthen and expand their country‘s relations. Aliyev praised the strong friendship between Azerbaijan and Georgia, which he said is based on mutual respect and trust.
Armenia’s Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, congratulated Mikheil Kavelashvili too. He said Armenia looks forward to strengthening its strategic partnership with Georgia and working together at all levels. Pashinyan wished Kavelashvili success in his new role.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić also sent a congratulatory message. He wished Kavelashvili success and said he hopes the two countries will work together on important issues, like building peace and stability. Vučić invited Mikheil’s brother, Giorgi Kavelashvili, to visit Serbia.
