Police can also hold people until they appear in court. The President says this goes against the country‘s rights and freedoms.

The President is also responding to ongoing protests in Georgia. She says the country is going through an “unusual Russian winter”, but promises that a “Georgian spring” will come soon. A Georgian spring refers to a time of change and progress for the country. The President’s message seems to be one of hope and optimism, despite current challenges.
